Your shared 4 days desert tour from Marrakech starts with an early pickup from your riad or hotel. We leave the city and drive up into the High Atlas Mountains. The road climbs through small Berber villages, walnut trees and terraced fields to the Tizi n’Tichka pass, the highest road pass in Morocco. There are stops for photos and a mint tea along the way.
Then we go down to Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village of clay houses listed by UNESCO and used in many famous films. You can walk up to the top for a wide view over the valley. After lunch we pass Ouarzazate and follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through Skoura and the Valley of Roses near Kelaat M’Gouna.

After breakfast we drive along the Dades Valley to the town of Tinghir, with its long green palm grove. A short drive later you reach the Todra Gorges, where the rock walls rise up to 300 meters on both sides of a small river. You have time to walk inside the canyon and enjoy the fresh air.
The road then crosses the open desert plains to Erfoud and finally to Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara. Here you meet your camels and ride into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi as the sun goes down.
