Day 1: Casablanca arrival

Welcome to Morocco! When you arrive at the Casablanca Airport, our friendly driver will meet you with a big smile. We will help you with your bags and drive you to your hotel. We want you to feel the warm hospitality of our country from the very first moment.

Once you are ready, your driver will take you to see the famous Hassan II Mosque. This amazing building sits right on the ocean and features the world’s tallest minaret. It is the perfect place to start your 12 days in Morocco. You will see beautiful hand-carved stone, colorful tiles, and enjoy a nice drive along the Corniche to see the beach. After your tour, your driver will safely return you to your hotel, where you can rest and prepare for the adventure ahead.

After breakfast, we leave Casablanca and drive to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. Your driver will take you to see the historic Hassan Tower and the beautiful Mausoleum of Mohammed V. These are important landmarks that show the amazing history and royal culture of Morocco.

Our first stop is Ifrane, a very clean town that looks like a village in Switzerland, followed by a stop in the cedar forest to see the wild monkeys. We will continue our drive and stop for a nice lunch along the way.

As we travel further south, you will see the landscape change into the red rocky hills of the Ziz Valley. Your driver will stop at a panoramic view so you can see the thousands of palm trees below. The journey continues until we reach the golden dunes of Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Once we arrive, you will meet your camels and start a trek across the dunes as the sun begins to set. This peaceful ride takes you deep into the sand, where you will spend the night in a desert camp. After a delicious dinner, you will enjoy a campfire and listen to Berber music before you sleep under a sky full of stars.

Next, we drive to the amazing Todra Gorges. These are very tall rock walls that rise high into the sky, with a small river flowing at the bottom. You can walk along the water and feel the cool air between the giant cliffs. It is a beautiful spot to take photos and see one of the most famous natural sights in the country.

In the afternoon, we continue our journey to Boumalne Dades. You will see unique rock shapes that look like “Monkey Fingers” along the road. We will finish the day at your hotel for dinner. It is a quiet place to rest and enjoy the view of the red mountains.

 

 

After a traditional breakfast in your hotel, we leave Boumalne Dades and drive to the city of Ouarzazate. This city is known as the “Hollywood of Africa” because it is home to famous movie studios where many big films are made. Next, we visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This is a very old village made of red mud bricks and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. From there, you can see a wonderful view of the area and imagine how desert travelers used to stop here long ago.

In the afternoon, we drive up into the High Atlas Mountains. We will cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass, which is the highest road in Morocco. You will see many small Berber villages built into the side of the mountains and enjoy the amazing views from the high peaks. The road has many turns as we move toward the plains.

Finally, we arrive in the red city of Marrakech. We will take you to your Riad to rest and have a good night’s sleep after your long journey from the mountains.

Today, you will meet your local guide to start a tour of the “Red City.” You will visit the famous Bahia Palace, which has beautiful gardens and rooms decorated with amazing tilework and carved wood. Next, you will see the tall Koutoubia Mosque and walk through the historic Jewish Quarter, also called the Mellah. After the tour, you will head to Jemaa el-Fnaa square to explore freely and enjoy its unique atmosphere. This morning, after breakfast, you will leave the Red City for a trip to the beautiful Ouzoud Waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains. These are the highest waterfalls in North Africa, where the water falls over 100 meters down green cliffs and red rocks.
